This is a beautiful establishment with the best view of the lake. We didn't have a reservation, but we were able to sit at one of the high tables near the bar. We were pleasantly greeted by Skip and were seated quickly. As we were taking our seats, we met Roslyn, the owner. She was high energy and welcoming. She suggested an appetizer after finding out it was our 1st visit. We decided on the shrimp cameilia (not sure if I'm spelling it right ), which was amazingly delicious. It left my taste buds dancing with joy. A velvety sauce enveloped the entire dish. It was a blend of richness and tang, with hints of butter, lemon, and Creole magic. The crabmeat and shrimp soaked up this sauce, creating a flavor explosion. Their Catfish Topped with Crabmeat and Grilled Shrimp. Let me take you through this mouthwatering experience. Presentation: The plate arrived, and my eyes widened in anticipation. A generous fillet of catfish, crowned with a regal topping--a medley of delicious crabmeat and succulent grilled shrimp. The vibrant colors and contrasting textures promised a symphony of flavors. Flavors and Textures: Catfish: The catfish was tender, and its mild flavor acted as the perfect canvas for the seafood symphony. Crabmeat: The crabmeat was a revelation. Delicate, sweet, and it harmonized beautifully with the catfish. Grilled Shrimp: These little gems were char-kissed, their natural sweetness intensified by the grill. Each bite released a burst of juiciness. The restaurant was clean, open, and bright. There is outside seating also. The restroom was also clean. Definitely a MUST try.

Me and my daughter enjoyed a gorgeous sunset over the lake and some really nice shrimp scampi on top of green tomatoes. Wonderful service and all of the food items were of great taste and quality. A nice experience and one worth it every time.

Wonderful place with good food, excellent service and beautiful atmosphere. The Grouper was a very good thickness with a sauce that was tangy and not too creamy. Everyone in our group really enjoyed their food. The service was amazing. Adrian was the perfect waiter. Great timing. Excellent suggestions The patio area is beautiful, overlooking the Lake.

We really enjoy the food. Can't wait to go back. We sat inside cause it was hot that day. Last time we sat outside cause it was cooler. The view of the lake is very nice! We still could see the water from our table inside so that was a plus. The service was awesome!

Rips on the lake was a decent first time experience. The location of the restaurant is right across from the lake which gave us great views of the water from our table. We sat inside by the bar at one of the tables by the window since is was a little to windy to sit outside that day, but they do have a nice front patio with seating and views of the lake. The building is older and the stairs are steep out front but they do have an elevator if you have struggle with getting up stairs. Our service was fast and we had a new waiter who did great. All of our food was good except the shrimp and crab bisque had zero crab in it. It was basically just shrimp in a heavy cream. The blueberry bread pudding was the star of the show. It was very hot and was delicious.

Wow! This place is top notch! Rips is located on the Mandeville lakefront and it is beautiful. We had a reservation on Friday night and it was crowded, but we were seated immediately. The oyster Rockefeller bread is a must!! This appetizer is big and delicious. I could have eaten the sauce with a spoon. I will 100% order this again! The trout Audrey was awesome! The trout is topped with crabmeat and shrimp and it was delicious! It comes with green beans and new potatoes. Overall, the food and experience were so great and I will definitely be back.

It's been over 30 years since I'd eaten at Rips. I remember how good the onion rings were so we took a short trip over the Causeway to see if they are still as good. I'm so happy they are!! Big but the onions are thin and perfectly cooked. We also had the catfish/shrimp platter and the shrimp covered grouper. Don't miss out on the Lady St Germain martini, delicious and dangerous. The atmosphere is comfortable and friendly with a beautiful view of the lake. I can't wait to go back.
